Olga is a native Pomor and a historian by profession. Her dream is to create a museum dedicated to the lighthouses of Mudyuga, thereby restoring the island's status as an "Island of Hope." For two centuries, the "White Tower" and "Black Tower" lighthouses served as beacons of salvation for sailors.
However, the island's dark past—it was the site of Russia's first concentration camp, established between 1918 and 1919—overshadows the inspiring story of the lighthouses and their keepers. Olga is convinced that the museum will reconcile the conflicting memories associated with Mudyuga and demonstrate that light triumphs over darkness.
